Along with its mood-boosting properties, borage is often used to treat bronchitis because of its soothing effect and ability to reduce inflammation and detoxify the body.  It is known to help heal the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat and stimulates activity in the kidneys and adrenal glands to rid the body of catarrh.  The plant is known to stimulate the adrenal glands to help the body during stressful times.
Borage is also useful for restoring vitality during recovery from an illness.  It is helpful for treating problems of the digestive system and has been used to increase quantity and quality of mother’s milk.
