Centaury is beneficial for recovery during a long illness because it promotes the appetite and strengthens the digestive system.  It also purifies the blood, regulates the gallbladder, and is an excellent tonic.  The herb strengthens the bladder of the elderly and helps prevent bed-wetting.  Centaury is a preventive for all febrile diseases and helps after a fever.  It is also recommended for rheumatism.
