Chickweed is valuable for treating blood toxicity, fevers and inflammation. Its mucilage elements are known to help with stomach ulcers and inflamed bowels. Chickweed can help dissolve plaque in blood vessels as well as other fatty substances in the body. It acts as an antibiotic in the blood and may be recommended as an anticancer treatment. Some have used chickweed to treat tumors.

It can be used as a poultice for boils, burns, skin disease, sore eyes and swollen testes. Chickweed is recommended to aid in weight loss and to break down cellulite. It is a mild herb and has been used as a food as well as medicine.
